MASARU OZAKI
MASARU OZAKI centers his practice on the question, “What is real?” Working across layered media—light and structure, motion and reflection, form and perception—his works visualize liminal moments that arise between reality and fiction, body and image, unsettling the very processes of seeing, touching, and understanding. Through poetic yet critical structures, OZAKI reveals how reality itself is constructed and staged, returning that awareness to the viewer as an embodied experience. In recent years, he has developed Delay Sculpture, materializing perceptual delay itself by sculpting the subtle slippages and afterglow that emerge in what we think we have seen.
Major exhibitions include Just Around the Corner (Art Miami / TEFAF Maastricht) and Push Start Button P2 (PoCo Pop and Contemporary Art Museum, Tallinn, Estonia). He has also presented works at Shibuya PARCO, Epson Square Marunouchi, and Van Cleef & Arpels Ginza.
MASARU OZAKIは、「リアルとは何か？」という問いを中心に、光と構造、動きと反射、立体と知覚といった多層的なメディウムを横断して制作を行う。その作品は、現実と虚構、身体とイメージのあわいに立ち上がる“リミナル”な瞬間を可視化し、見る・触れる・理解するといった知覚のプロセスそのものを揺さぶる。現実がいかに構築され、演出されているかという構造を、詩的かつ批評的に浮かび上がらせ、体験として観る者に返すことを目指している。近年は、見たはずの現実に生じるわずかなズレや余韻を、知覚の遅延として素材化する《Delay Sculpture》を展開している。
主な展示に、光と映像の彫刻作品《JUST AROUND THE CORNER》（Art Miami［米国・マイアミ］／TEFAF Maastricht［オランダ・マーストリヒト］）、《PUSH START BUTTON P2》（PoCo Pop and Contemporary Art Museum［エストニア・タリン］）をはじめ、渋谷PARCO、エプソンスクエア丸の内、ヴァンクリーフ＆アーペル銀座本店などで発表してきた。
